The recover- vintage camper projects

Hello all!
TO SEE THE END RESULTS IN BOTH CAMPERS THAT I have made over check

Here for my camper "The Morning Glory camper redo"

And the link for the "Edelweiss camper redo"

So in the process of recovering the ugly seat cushions for the camper, I wanted to make it as easy as possible. I didn't really want to have to sew a whole bunch and try and figure out the way to sew it to fit perfectly to the cushions. So you wanna know my secret to covering them? Its called "Hannah's gift wrap technique" And you do just as it says...gift wrap the cushions (just leave out the bow :)

Pretty much I took the fabric and wrapped it around the cushion like a present. Then I pinned the bottom side (like you would tape the underside of a present) and sewed a button and hand stitched down the seam. It really didn't take that long at all! And it gave it a sorta hand made rugged camping look. :) And if i need to wash the fabric all i have to do is undo the button and pull out the cushion. Simple!

I found a stool at a thrift store for a dollar that I thought would be a super cute foot rest in the camper or for taking outside to sit by the campfire.

The cloth on the stool was red and dirty. So with a simple recover and nailing some cloth down it transformed into the colors I wanted. :)

I sewed the pillows by hand using the same gift wrap technique. I used a fun yellow yarn to hand sew it closed and to make it fun and bold! Kinda reminded me of something that would be in a sale boat. :) The rose flowers I made super easy. All you need is strips of fabric and a hot glue gun. The tutorial I found on this website:Cloth Flower Tutorial

Out of all the exctiment to get the camper done. I forgot to take pictures for the blog on the other projects I worked on in the camper. I'll have to remember that next time!

Always remember...for anything you do... you can most likely make it homemade and for 1/2 the price. I always am on the look out for items to use for my house/decor projects at garage sales, thrift stores etc. I even love to shop at the $1 store. All the storage bins above the couch in the camper are from the dollar store. And I found most of my kitchen items and plates from there as well. Its fun to be thrifty! Gets your mind going in all creative ways!

Part 2- Our first Campout in the Vintage Camper! -Glamping

Friday, Easter weekend turned out beautiful! So last minute Daniel calls me around noon and proposes an idea. That he would take a late lunch break and take the kids and I out to Weston State park with our vintage camper and camp for the night as part of our Easter celebration! I totally jumped on the idea! I had been waiting for the opportunity to take it out and see how we fared!
So with only a few hours to get ready, and and idea to do some sort of nice easter-like dinner, I scrambled to grab what I could.
So here is a bit of our time camping...or should I say....Glamping. We had a amazing time. The kids and I (while Daniel finished up his day at work) set up our campsite, had a picnic and a really fun photoshoot.
We had a lovely Easter dinner in the beautiful outdoors.......

And here is some from the mini photo shoot I had with the kiddos! It was fun!

That night Daniel's brother Phillip and Jessica came to visit us by the campfire for some smore making. When it got darker and colder they headed for home and we climbed into our warm little home away from home. I made some warm tea and Daniel did the Resurrection eggs with the kids at the table. Then we climbed into our warm comfy beds and headed off to dreamland....

It was wonderful!

Happy Glamping,
Hannah
{Check back in a few days for the blog post of our Easter celebration this year!}
