TO SEE THE END RESULTS IN BOTH CAMPERS THAT I have made over check
Here for my camper "The Morning Glory camper redo"
And the link for the "Edelweiss camper redo"
So in the process of recovering the ugly seat cushions for the camper, I wanted to make it as easy as possible. I didn't really want to have to sew a whole bunch and try and figure out the way to sew it to fit perfectly to the cushions. So you wanna know my secret to covering them? Its called "Hannah's gift wrap technique" And you do just as it says...gift wrap the cushions (just leave out the bow :)
Pretty much I took the fabric and wrapped it around the cushion like a present. Then I pinned the bottom side (like you would tape the underside of a present) and sewed a button and hand stitched down the seam. It really didn't take that long at all! And it gave it a sorta hand made rugged camping look. :) And if i need to wash the fabric all i have to do is undo the button and pull out the cushion. Simple!
I found a stool at a thrift store for a dollar that I thought would be a super cute foot rest in the camper or for taking outside to sit by the campfire.
The cloth on the stool was red and dirty. So with a simple recover and nailing some cloth down it transformed into the colors I wanted. :)
Always remember...for anything you do... you can most likely make it homemade and for 1/2 the price. I always am on the look out for items to use for my house/decor projects at garage sales, thrift stores etc. I even love to shop at the $1 store. All the storage bins above the couch in the camper are from the dollar store. And I found most of my kitchen items and plates from there as well. Its fun to be thrifty! Gets your mind going in all creative ways!
